Mr. Bucky Fukumoto is a filmmaker and graphic designer born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Known as a fruit basket of creativity, Bucky is most commended for his work with British pop-icon Morrissey after helming six music videos and two feature-length concert films. Besides working with other musicians such as Peaches and supergroup Audioslave, Bucky has worked with athletes and sports personalities such as Shaquille O’Neal, Tiger Woods, Rajon Rondo, and F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen. His filmmaking is primarily in live-action but is also known for work in animation and motion graphics as well as creating influential visual effects.

 

As an art director and graphic designer for the Girl and Chocolate Skateboard companies, he created graphics for decks and apparel. It’s here that he worked with Girl and Chocolate co-owner Spike Jonze on a variety of skate films produced by the company. This led him to collaborative work with Roman Coppola and The Directors Bureau. He has also worked with the iconic street fashion brand X-Large, artist Geoff McFetridge and continues to work as a designer today, most recently re-branding the Pestoni Family Winery as well as overall creative direction for the winery and brand. Ongoing projects include leading teams for the design house Brand New School for projects with Google and collaborations with creative house Commonwealth Projects. He runs his own wine label - Premonition of Love, a Napa Valley rosé.

He currently splits his time between Calistoga in Northern California and Los Angeles and continues to work on perfecting the ultimate mid-day nap when possible or as he refers to it – subconscious research.
